Here is a fabulous plate of fossils from the Eocene of Utah. There is a distinct Allophylus flexifola leaf and a multitude of insects on this slab. There is a very rare Cricket, a Snout Beetle, and many, many mosquitoes preserved on the rock. Under magnification, this is one of the best Crickets that we have seen from this location. The fossils have great color and exhibit terrific detail. The dark leaf and insects contrast nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossils are well positioned on the large, naturally square plate of shale. This is an extremely fine slab with a leaf and many different fossil insects from the Eocene age.
