Here is nice single echinoid from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of fossils from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has a rare Arcaeocidaris aliquantula echinoid preserved. The urchin is beautifully displayed with spines intact. The fossil has great color and contrast and is naturally positioned on the chunk of limestone. This is a very uncommon echinoid from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
