This is a very nice example of a Mayfly larva. It is Ephemeropsis trisetalis from the Jurassic of China. This large insect larva is very distinct. The head, segmented body, and forked tail are all present and easily seen. Even the ''bristles'' of the body are noticeable. The insect larva has wonderful color and contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. The bug is nicely positioned on the squared plate of shale. This is one of the most clearly defined specimens of this large insect larva that we have ever seen.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
