Here is an interesting plate of fossil insects and leaves from the Eocene of Utah. This plate contains a very large Poplar leaf. The heart-shaped leaf is quite distinct. There is also a myriad of insects, mostly mosquitoes, preserved on the plate. These detailed fossils have great color and contrast well with the khaki-colored matrix. This is a wonderful multiple specimen of a leaf and many insects from the Green River Formation.
