Here is a beautiful plate of fossil ammonites. These are Psiloceras planorbis from the Jurassic of England. The ammonites display gorgeous coloration, as the iridescent mother-of-pearl shell is still preserved. The fossils are mostly bluish-purple with highlights of green, yellow, and red - the colors are MUCH more intense than the picture shows. The very inner coils of the ammonites are intact and easily seen. And there are even four ammonites preserved on the back side of the plate! This is a very displayable multiple ammonite plate from the famous Lias Beds of England.
