This is a very fine example of a fossilized Mayfly larva. It is Ephemeropsis trisetalis from the Jurassic of China.. This large fossil larva exhibits very fine detail. The head, segmented body, and three-pronged tail are all easily seen. Even the ''bristles'' on the body are quite evident. The Mayfly larva has wonderful color and contrast and is well showcased on the natural plate of matrix. This is an excellent example of Ephemeropsis from the time of the dinosaurs.
