This is a very nice specimen of Heteraster oblongus from the Cretaceous of Spain. This elongate sea urchin has been removed from the matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. The fossil is extremely robust and exhibits fine detail. The entire test is covered with small pustules, and the ambulacra are easily seen. This is an excellent example of this distinct echinoid from Spain.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
