This is a rare assemblage of Ordovician echinoderms. It is a large slab with three carpoids and two brittlestars preserved. The carpoids have excellent plate detail preserved (hard to see in photo). One of the carpoids is fully complete, with the long, thin stem, egg-shaped body, and long, finger-like arm nicely intact. The brittlestars are large and also have great detail preserved. The fossils are very aesthetically spaced on the large, colorful plate of sandstone - amazing that they are all preserved together on the same rock. This is an incredible assortment of unusual animals from the Ordovician sea floor.
