Here is a very detailed specimen of Lapworthia from the Ordovician of Morocco. This plate contains a beautiful, EXTRA LARGE brittlestar, one of the largest we've ever seen. The massive brittlestar exhibits gorgeous detail. The large central disc is wonderfully displayed, and all five of the extremely long, sinuous arms are intact - it is highly unusual to have all of the arms so nicely preserved. The fossil has excellent, totally natural, orange coloration that contrasts strikingly with the light tan matrix. The fossil is well positioned on the somewhat triangular block. This is a fabulous example of an extremely large fossil brittlestar.
