Here is a gorgeous fossil bivalve from the Jurassic of Madagascar. This is a large specimen (almost 3 inches) of Cardinia socialis from the Ammonite Beds. The fossil clam has been polished to reveal the spectacular brown and white coloration of the specimen. The fossil bivalve is nicely inflated and beautifully displayed, having been prepared fully free of matrix. This is easily one of the most displayable fossil bivalves we have had.
