Here is a beautiful fossil ammonite. This is Psiloceras planorbis from the Jurassic of England. The ammonite displays gorgeous coloration, as the iridescent mother-of-pearl shell is still preserved. The fossil is mostly bluish-purple with highlights of green, yellow, and red - the colors are just amazing. The very inner coils of the ammonite are intact and easily seen. And there are MANY fossils preserved on the back side of the plate. This is an extremely colorful ammonite from the famous Lias Beds of England.
