This is a very interesting fossil from the Silurian of Indiana. It is a large gastropod, Platyostoma sp., with a brachiopod preserved. The gastropod is very detailed and shows the coiling pattern of the organism beautifully. The fossil is very 3-dimensional, exhibits fine detail, and has great color and contrast. The snail also showcases a few strange Cornulites attached to the surface. This is a very unusual example of a gastropod with Cornulites and brachiopod from the Waldron Shale.
