Here is an amazing multiple plate of fossil shrimp. These are Carpopenaeus callirostris from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this location are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. There are SEVEN complete shrimp beautifully preserved on this plate of sublithographic limestone - it is quite unusual to find this many shrimp fossilized this closely together. The shrimp have been darkened for contrast and exhibit fine detail. The segmented carapaces, legs, and long legs, and even longer antennae are easily seen. The fossils are wonderfully showcased on the semi-rectangular plate of limestone. This is simply a beautiful display slab of fossil shrimp from the Middle East.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
