This is a very aesthetic plate of brachiopods. There are SEVEN examples of Platystrophia clarksvillensis on this slab. These distinct Ordovician brachiopods have both valves intact and are tightly articulated. The fossil ''lampshells'' are extremely inflated and exhibit excellent detail. The coarse plications of the shells are easily seen, and the fine growth lines are quite evident. The fossils have nice color and contrast and are well positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is a very nice specimen of seven unusual Ordovician brachiopods from Indiana.
