This is a HUGE fossil brachiopod. It is a nice Stringocephalus from the Middle Devonian of China. The brachiopod is extremely inflated and 3-dimensional. Both valves are present in this robust specimen. It is quite unlike any other brachiopod that we have ever seen. This is a very interesting fossil brachiopod from China.
