This is a very rare invertebrate fossil. It is very collectible Maotianshania cylindrica from the famous Chengjiang locality in China. This site is known worldwide for soft-body preservation of Lower Cambrian animals. The fauna is very similar to the Burgess Shale, but it is OLDER! Many one-of-a-kind organisms have been described exclusively from this formation.

This priapulid worm is extremely well preserved and exhibits very fine detail. The segmented body is intact and very easily seen. The fossil has very good natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the large, natural plate of matrix. This is a very rare and extremely sought-after soft-bodied fossil from one of the most famous invertebrate fossil localities in the world.
