This is an unusual fossil of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton from the Lower Permian in Germany. The pit that this fossil came from was closed in 1984, so these have to now be acquired from an old collection. The skull, feet, and backbone are easily seen. The amphibian is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale that also contains another partial Branchiosaur. This is a very fine example of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton.
