This is a womderful specimen of Perisphinctes sp. from the Jurassic of Madagascar. This very inflated ammonite is large for this type and has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all sides. This cephalopod has a very rounded keel and coarse, bifurcating ribbing. The inner whorls of the ammonite are extremely well displayed. The fossil has a natural bright white coloration, which is quite striking. This is a large, beautiful specimen of Perisphinctes from Madagascar.
