Here is a striking ammonite fossil. This is a very large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The individual chambers of this multi-colored ammonite are very well defined - ALL of the individual chambers are hollow and filled with small crystals! The large size of the cephalopod and the wonderful coloration of the hollow chambers make for an exciting specimen. This is a very displayable ammonite for the fossil collector or an unique objet d'art for the decorator.
