Here is a very nice fossil insect. This is an excellent fossil Fly (Diptera) from the Miocene of Spain. The head, body, and legs of the beast are well displayed and easily seen. The fossil insect has good color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the large, rectangular plate of shale. This is a very good example of a fossil insect from Europe (large close-up photo is included for free).
