Here is an interesting fossil of a gastropod from the Eocene of Wyoming. This is a nice example of a high-spired gastropod. This distinct gastropod exhibits good detail.  The snail has nice natural color and contrast and is well positioned on the block of oilshale that also contains an almost-complete fossil fish! This is a very fine specimen of a gastropod from the ''Fish Layers'' of the Green River Formation.
