Here is a rare Ice Age fossil. This is a large Equus lenaicus (True Horse) jaw from the famous Mammoth site in Siberia. This type of horse originated in North America during the Pliocene, but became extinct in North America during the Pleistocene. It survived through to the Ice Age in Europe and Siberia, where this specimen was found. This jaw has three large teeth fully intact . The teeth have a wonderful natural wear pattern. The jawbone is very well preserved and has a beautiful reddish-brown patina. This is a very sought-after specimen for a fossil collector, or a great gift for a horse lover.
