This is a huge multiple slab of blastoids. These are Pentremites rusticus from the Pennsylvanian of Oklahoma. There are NINETEEN blastoids and four brachiopods present on this plate. This species is unusual in that the plates of the thecae are highly ornamented - this is the only species of Pentremites that we have seen that have these ornamented plates. The blastoids are very inflated and exhibit great detail. The wide ambulacra are easily seen and the spiracles at the top of the blastoids are quite evident - even the ''food grooves'' of the ambulacra are clearly defined. The ornamentation of the plates is beautifully displayed (hard to see in photo). These primitive echinoderms have good color and contrast and are nicely presented on the large, natural plate of matrix that also contains many fossils. This is a fabulous multiple specimen of these highly ornamented blastoids from the Pennsylvanian.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
