This is a very nice spiny sea urchin fossil. It is a large Archaeocidaris sp. echinoid from Texas. This displayable specimen has very good detail - most of the fragile spines are still intact and attached (rare). The urchin is nicely centered on the rounded matrix plate. This is a very collectible type of fossil echinoid from the Pennsylvanian Period.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
