This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This colorful ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. The distinct chambers are filled with striking yellow calcite. This is a very displayable specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar.
