This is a very displayable chambered ammonite from the Jurassic of Russia. This is a wonderful example of a split-open Quenstedtoceras sp.. This type of ammonite has many ribs and a sharp keel. The large ammonite has been cut open to reveal the amazing inner chambers. The hollow chambers are lined with bright pyrite crystals - the golden coloration is just spectacular! The fossil cephalopod is nicely showcased on the sculpted block of matrix. This is a stunning display specimen of a beautiful chambered ammonite from Russia.
