This is a very interesting fossil from the Silurian of Indiana. It is a very fine gastropod, Platyostoma sp. The gastropod is extremely detailed and shows the coiling pattern of the organism beautifully. The fossil is very 3-dimensional, exhibits fine detail, and has great natural color. This is a fabulous example of a Silurian gastropod from the Waldron Shale.
