Here is an interesting plate of fossils from the Mississippian of Missouri. There is a fine example of Evactinopora, a star-shaped bryozoan, on the slab. The fossil is quite 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The points on the bryozoan are easily seen - it has seven points. The fossil has good color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the plate of maroon-colored limestone that also contains a small Evactinopora and a horn coral. This is a fine example of this strange bryozoan and a coral from the Fern Glen Formation.
