Here is an interesting fossil blastoid. This is Tanaoblastus roemeri from the Chouteau Formation of Missouri. This blastoid is found while searching for the elusive Breviphillipsia trilobites - but intact blastoids are even rarer than the trilobites! This melon-shaped specimen is complete with very nice detail preserved. This blastoid is well displayed on the large plate of matrix. This is a very good example of this hard-to-find blastoid from Missouri.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
