Here is a very rare set of vertebrate fossils. This is a pair of complete Canine Teeth from the extinct Dire Wolf, Canis dirus. These fossils were found in the famous Pleistocene River Deposits of Florida. This location has not produced many nice specimens for a number of years now. The larger, blond tooth is from the upper jaw, the darker canine is from the lower. The fossils are very well preserved and are fully free of matrix. The enamel of the teeh is very easily seen, and the roots of the teeth are fully intact, which is extremely unusual. This is a very collectible matched pair of Dire Wolf canines from the classic Florida "Bone Beds" collecting site.
