Here is an interesting fossil of two different gastropods from the Miocene of France. There is a large example of Turritella, a high-spired gastropod, and an unidentified ornate gastropod on the plate. The gastropods are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit wonderful detail. The fine ornamentation of the fossils is clearly defined. The snails have great color and contrast and are well positioned on the thick block of sandstone matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of two classic Miocene gastropods from France.
