This is a very aesthetic fossil gastropod from the Fox Hills Formation of South Dakota. Gastropods are not commonly found in the Pierre Shale. The fossil is very 3-dimensional and even retains some of the ''shell'' material. The fossil is nicely perched on the natural piece of shale matrix. There are also a few small ammonite parts associated with the gastropod. This is a very displayable fossil gastropod from the Cretaceous.
