This is an unidentifed Winged Insect from the classic locality in Florissant, Colorado. The specimen was collected on private property outside the famous Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. The insect exhibits fine detail. The appendages and wings of the insect are quite apparent. The fossil displays a very nice color pattern. The insect is well showcased on a natural slab of volcanic ash turned to shale. This is a rare chance to acquire an uncommon fossil insect from near a world-famous site that has been closed to collecting for many years.
