This is an unusual echinoderm fossil. It is a large Edriophus bigsbyi, an edrioasteroid, from Ontario, Canada. This specimen is inflated and exhibits great detail. The five, slightly curving ambulacra are very nicely displayed. The interambulacra areas are easily seen. The over-all plate structure of this edrioasteroid is wonderful. The cream-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the grey matrix. The edrio is beautifully centered on the squared block of limestone. This is an exceptional specimen of this primitive echinoderm from the Ordovician of Canada.
