This is a very nice fossil insect. It is a fine segmented Insect from the Cretaceous of Brazil. The insect (Roach, Cicada, ?) is very well defined and exhibits excellent detail - the distinct segmentation is easily seen. The dark-brown color of the insect contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well presented on the somewhat rectangular plate of matrix. This is a great example of a large, extinct Insect from the Cretaceous.
