Here is a very uncommon echinoid we acquired from an old collection. It is a distinct Pliotaxaster sp. from Spain. This detailed sea urchin has very nice form and exhibits good plate structure. This type of echinoid has distinct ambulacra and very nice symmetry. This is a fine specimen of this rare Cretaceous urchin from Europe.
