This is an extremely uncommon fossil. It is an excellent specimen of Cornulites proprius from the Silurian of Indiana. This strange worm is usually found MUCH smaller and attached to a gastropod. This inflated specimen exhibits wonderful detail - the individual segments are beautifully defined. The large worm has good color and contrast and is nicely presented on the large plate of shale that also contains many other fossils. This is a great specimen of this very unusual fossil worm.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
