This is a rare fossil of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton from the Lower Permian in Germany. The pit that this fossil came from was closed in 1984, so these have to now be acquired from old collections. The skull, limbs, and backbone are easily seen. The amphibian is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a very fine example of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton.
