This is an extremely uncommon fossil. It is an excellent specimen of Lepidocolus strictus, a Machaeridian, from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This armor-plated worm is one of the rarest fossils to be found in the Haragan Formation. This inflated specimen exhibits wonderful detail - the individual plates are beautifully defined. The large worm has good color and contrast and is nicely presented on the natural block of marlstone. This is a great specimen of this very unusual fossil worm.
