This is a very nice cave bear jaw from the Pleistocene of Romania. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. Three excellent teeth are retained in the jawbone, including the Wisdom tooth, which is seen barely emerging from the jawbone. The large teeth have excellent enamel and exhibit hardly any wear - the jaw was from an adolescent bear. The jawbone is also in very nice condition. This is a very fine display specimen of a large cave bear jaw with teeth preserved.
