This is an absolutely stunning specimen of Nymboceras septum from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This very 3-dimensional ammonite has been removed from the surrounding matrix and the outer shell left fully natural. The tiny inner whorls and living chamber of the lenticular ammonite are easily seen. But the most collectible feature of this ammonite is the natural rainbow iridescence preserved on the both sides of the ammonite! The color is MUCH better than the photo shows! The completeness of the ammonite and the incredible rainbow color make this a highly collectible ammonite specimen.
