Here is a very uncommon vertebrate fossil. This is a tooth from Capra ibex prisca, a long-horned Wild Goat. This specimen was found in the Pleistocene Cave Deposits of Romania, the same locality as the famous Cave Bear. This material is becoming harder to obtain - most of the caves have been discovered and heavily collected. This large tooth is very detailed and quite well preserved. And, best of all, there is no restoration or reconstruction to this fine specimen. This is a great example of a tooth from this unusual Ice Age mammal.
