This is a very nice vertebrate fossil. It is a cool Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus) jaw from the Pleistocene of Russia. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. FIVE teeth, including the canine, are still tightly embedded in the jawbone. The teeth have excellent enamel, and the cusps are somewhat worn from use. The very tip of the large canine is extremely pointed and sharp, which is quite unusual. This is an excellent specimen of an extinct Cave Bear jaw from the Ice Age of Romania.
