This is a very aesthetic plate of brachiopods. There are two VERY LARGE examples of Platystrophia cypha on this slab. These HUGE Ordovician brachiopods have both valves intact and tightly articulated. The fossil ''lampshells'' are extremely inflated and exhibit excellent detail. The smooth shells are easily seen, and the fine growth lines are quite evident. The fossils have very nice color and contrast and are well composited on the natural plate of shale. This is a very impressive specimen of two large Ordovician brachiopods from Indiana.
