Here is an unusual fossil tooth. This is a molar tooth from a Squalodont whale. This specimen is from the Oligocene deposits of South Carolina. This tooth is very rare and exhibits fine detail. The tan, shiny, corrugated enamel is beautifully displayed and a large section of the root is intact. The tip of the tooth exhibits almost no natural wear. This is a very fine specimen of this uncommon tooth from an Oligocene whale.
