This is a very interesting brachiopod. This is an Unidentified Brachiopod from the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry of New York. This type of brachiopod has a distinct reticulation and fine ribbing. The brachiopod has both valves intact and is nicely articulated. The fine detail of the fossil ''lamp shell'' is quite remarkable. The fossil has very good color and contrast and is nicely composited on the plate of shale, along with a crinoid stem. This is an extremely attractive, distinct Devonian brachiopod from the Empire State.
