Here is a very pretty ammonite. This is colorful Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This distinct ammonite has been highly polished on both sides for optimal display. The coiling pattern of the cephalopod is easily seen, and the intricate suture pattern is beautifully displayed. The white sutures contrast nicely with the golden yellow ammonite. This is a very attractive specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar. (White streak is in the photo, not on the fossil.)
