Here is an impressive plate of solitary, or ''horn'', corals. These are Oristyna sp. (?) from the Devonian of Moab, Utah. These corals are found in blocks of solid limestone, and have to be soaked in acid for weeks to be exposed. There are MANY horn corals preserved in a very 3-dimensional manner, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PIECE! The large, colorful fossils exhibit extremely fine detail and are almost fully free of matrix. The corals are fully natural and display beautifully on the dense block of limestone. This is a very collectible multiple example of Devonian horn corals from breathtaking Moab, Utah.
