This is a very striking plate of brachiopods. There are two fine examples of Platystrophia ponderosa on this slab. These distinct Ordovician brachiopods have both valves intact and tightly articulated. The fossil ''lampshells'' are extremely inflated and exhibit excellent detail. The coarse plications of the shells are easily seen, and the fine growth lines are quite evident. The fossils have very nice color and contrast and are well displayed on the natural plate of shale. This is a very idisplayable specimen of two cool Ordovician brachiopods from Kentucky.
