This is a very rare fossil. It is a fine Mesodma Multituberculate Tooth from the Cretaceous of Wyoming. This specimen was acquired from the famous Chance Collection. These insectivor mammals lived at the same time as the dinosaurs! Most were the size of a mouse or rat, and looked similar. These animals were quite strange - they are not closely related to other mammals. This tooth is a distinct molar, nicely preserved and easily seen in the photograph. The fossil comes with its own custom-made display board and case (pictured). This is an extremely old mammal tooth from the time of the dinosaurs! (Comes with Dr. Chance's original reference photo and ID notes.)
